FASHION OVA STYLE

FASHION OVA' STYLE

The word fashion in and of itself accommodates so many different values in its very own meaning…Fashion is to form, to give shape or figure to, to mold, to fit, a manner, a custom, a way, a mode of style, appearance, and a whole lot of other adjectives that we can add to this meaning. In today’s day and age fashion is very important and is very evident in our society, it plays a major role in how we depict certain social groups, teenagers, entertainers, designers, professionals and such the like. It has transcended from just wearing top name brands to the appearance of a whole variety of styles created by visions generated by social norms (some which we deem acceptable and others not that much)..Fashion has also been playing a major role in how we even look at the opposite sex. We can truly say that fashion in this the 21st century plays a key role in society….

Being fashionable to me is a very good thing, It’s very vital in my opinion the way that we carry ourselves and we basically dress in a way that represents who we are, whether you choose to be preppy, funky, trendy or artistic, we wear what would give off a good depiction of who we are and not by the label we buy. A downfall to this theory is that you have a lot of people who really don’t know who they are and in order to assimilate and to fit in go to high extremities to dress and carry themselves like others. This has been happening since the beginning of time and its cool to have a fashion sense but I think it’s even cooler to have one of your own and if you share the same ideals and visions with others, don’t dress like someone to follow, dress like that person because you both hold the same rhetoric for that fashion style
A lot of celebrities who are always in the limelight showcase their styles whenever they are in the public eye and a lot of us gravitate to those styles. There is nothing wrong with that and I think that actually cool to look up to figures and imitate their fashion sense once again if it fits you. What I do have a problem with is wanna-be ballers and shot callers. A lot of us are not celebrities and cannot afford the things that celebrities wear but we try and buy what we cannot afford. Fashion was not meant to look nice but leave you hungry for a week. Stay within your budget and you can accessorize as well....

Fashion is a lifestyle so choose the lifestyle that is most suitable for YOU....

A lot of times people tend to mix up fashion with what kind of car you drive, or the jewelry you wear, etc…Those to me are minor aspects of fashion and some may critique and say that’s not even fashion at all. I don’t think “poppin” Moet and Ace of Spades champagne is technically fashionable but we are all entitled to our own opinion. Fashion has also come to play a significant role in the way we look at potential spouses and I do believe is should be taken serious, who doesn’t love someone who can coordinate and put themselves together? Then again everyone is entitled to their own opinion and fashion should be another tool for you when choosing a mate, and shouldn’t be a major requirement but good fashion doesn’t equal to good love and a good relationship so make sure you have the priorities straight...

Fashion in 2011 has opened my eyes to a lot of creativity, and a lot of up and coming designers have made me broaden my scope on the artistic value of fashion…Sometimes the mainstream can get watered down but these designers have showed that their brilliant, edgy, fun chic and glamorous designs come from their heart..The designs that they create more than often are influenced by who they are and their surroundings and inspired by many things with meanings. They are truly talented. To check out some of these fashions you can see Mr. Shegun Shampoo line GALAPEGO at www.galapego.com, Miss Rain King KISSED BY RAIN at www.kbrnyc.com, Miss Tamika Haywood at www.cultureflyy.com just to name a few...

In conclusion, fashion to me is a way to express you. It’s not always about the money, and how much something cost but more about the value, and in value I mean the finished project, because that finished project is what represents and reflects who you are. Fashion is more than labels and the brand that is shown on your jeans, tee, or sneakers. Fashion is basically a representation of what you create. Fashion Ova’ Style....
