HEALTHY SUNDAYS - NUTRIENTS!!!!!!

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE PART 1

Today in our health, series 1 of 2, I will be talking about nutrients and how beneficial it is to our body...It is very essential to our health that we treat it right and take care of our body accordingly…The natural, protective substances found in plants that also give them their unique color are called phytonutrients (or "plant nutrients").Health experts continuously recommend that we should eat a assorted amount of colorful fruits and vegetables everyday which they compare to the rainbow which I know a lot of us including myself do not do..There are Five(5) particular colors that experts have grouped…You have Red, Purple, Green, White and Orange and Yellow…For today we will be looking at 2 colors, the one which everyone know the most about which is the green and also orange…

The color green represents fruits and vegetables such the like of spinach, lettuce, broccoli, green beans, soy beans, green tea, green peppers and a lot more of the same distinction…I know a lot of us always use to hear our parents tell us that come on child, eat up your veggies because it is very good for you, but what are eating these fruits and vegetables good for…Some of the health benefits that our parents didn’t mention is that the color green on the rainbow of health is good for cell health, where it helps to facilitate interaction between cells and maintains healthy cell growth, they help to support arterial function, lung and vision health and helps to maintain healthy liver function.. So freshen your diet with Green

The color orange on the other hand represents fruits and vegetables such as corn, pineapple, lemons, passion fruit, papaya and oranges of course…I must say I love this category because I love the smile of oranges and pineapple and eating them, to me they are very juicy and everything listed in this group always make drinks real nice even the corn which I love to drink in different assorted soups and being a Jamaican I love it roasted as well or just boiled..Some of the benefits that this group helps with is eye health, a healthy immune function, it helps to maintain skin hydration- I know a lot of us hates dry and scaly skin, and is also key in healthy growth and development...The color orange and yellow makes for a brighter day, they are sunny colors and eating fruits and vegetables of these colors will help lead to a happier, healthier you

Remember guys, we should at least eat something from one of the colors each and every day to get the full nutrients that sour body needs..
