POETRY 30/30 - ONE SHOT!!!!!

ONE SHOT!!!!!!!

Life is like a BASKETBALL game, filled with up and downs 

You gotta be careful in everything you do because there are no TIMEOUTS 

We may face trials and tribulations and some of us gain the courage to REBOUND 

But some of us don’t recover, and not thinking properly may lead us to a TURNOVER 

At times we have an easy STREAK; we gotta make the best of it like FREE THROWS 

Accomplish all that we can like a FAST BREAK, so in everything we do we can WIN 

Keep yourself motivated and always remember to have that DRIVE for success 

Sometimes we may need an ASSIST, so it’s good to lend a helping hand 

No matter how far we TRAVEL in life, let’s be courteous no need to be TECHNICAL 

Let’s treat each other like family, we may be wearing different JERSEYS but we all on the same TEAM 

We are all trying to SCORE in the ARENA of life so we can have a better SECOND HALF 

Sometimes it’s easy but sometimes our goals and dreams get BLOCKED 

Sometimes we get disappointed, let down, we get hurt and sometimes we get FOULED 

But we have to stay strong; we have to learn from our FIRST HALF not to make the same mistakes 

Because in life you will always be facing an opponent just like at CENTER COURT 

So we have to remind ourselves to keep our head in the GAME, stay focus and win the JUMP BALL 

And even if we don’t come away with the ROCK in our hand at first, we can still get a STEAL 

Just remember the QUARTERS in life are not given, and we have no SUBSTITUTES 

Some people bow out early due to INJURIES and some go on to have great CAREERS 

Even though we should all be on the same TEAM, life doesn’t play FAIR 

So be the best that you can be, and accomplish all you can, because we only have ONE SHOT at life before we all RETIRE
